Contains the following type of material: photographs. Covers the following war: World War II (WWII). General description of the collection: The Robert S. Bohannon photograph collection consists of a large album dealing with the disarming of explosive devices at ammunition dumps in post-WWII Italy. The album is arranged from the largest aerial bombs in the front, through artillery projectiles, down to machine gun and rifle cartridges. Procedures of disarming are shown and described in captions. The workers at the depots are all Italian civilians. The album basically reflects a tour of these facilities conducted by Lieutenant General John C.H. Lee, who is shown on a number of the photos.
